Arts and Crafts museum in Prague, in the Czech and international context, collects, processes and preserves the past and present of artistic craft, applied art and design for the future. He believes in combining utility with quality and beauty, he wants to be an inspiration, a lesson and an experience.

We strive for the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Prague to be a place for innovative education that conveys the importance of the subjects of applied art and design in connection with architecture and art disciplines. We want to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life and the preservation of creativity in an increasingly uniform society and to create a welcoming space for public involvement and discussion of the cultural environment and the world that surrounds us.


The museum manages collections of glass, porcelain and ceramics, applied graphics and photography, textiles, fashion and design, furniture, watches, as well as a collection of precious and common metals, rare materials, jewellery, toys and a lot of written and visual documentation.  

Currently, the museum has half a million collection items from antiquity to the present, located in the central depository (2014 – 2016), the historic building underwent renovation and modernization in 2014 – 2017).
